Burn Drawings

The Burn Drawings are made by transferring images from The New York Times
onto vellum paper and then using sunlight through a magnifying glass to burn them.

In our high velocity society, images are consumed and discarded as quickly as they are created.
Lives are exposed, ruined, made, lost, all documented, all devoured in the knowledge that today ’s
news will be irrelevant tomorrow morning. Images become total throw-aways (bar, possibly,
a few that may linger in your mind for a while).

The burning, whilst being a destructive process, makes the images more "permanent ";
sunlight is the revealer and delivers a new life as well as almost total annihilation.
